Theodore, Saskatchewan | Thanks Pete. That makes sense. I am watching the market to see if I can make some sense from all your teaching! Last fall the basis tanked as supply became burdensome. But the spread has been wide and the basis tightens a little now and then to pull product (still wide but I get the odd call from end users offering better basis).
For my remaining bushels in the bin I am going to sit on it toward summer and if the basis does indeed follow the spreads then I will let it ride. Can always short the futures and then deliver later. | |
