SD/ND/FL | I'm not involved in beets but this is what I've heard lately from a friend that raises them in the N RRV...many guys lost $300+ per acre on the '13 crop.
Breakevens next year are approx $40/ton (with no stock/coop expense which has run $300/acre the last few years). Rumor of a payment in the low $30's next fall which would be another $200+ loss
Also American Crystal stock has fallen from $4,400 14 months ago to $1,400 today. A big equity hit right there even though most was conservatively valued | |
