WCMO-SWMO Area | And we wonder why 90% of the public dislikes farmers....You should read the comments on other forums when farm subsidies are discussed..For the past few days I've been reading their comments on yahoo and other forums....The publics total ignorance about farming is unreal..Listen to some of these comments..
Farmers get all their land paid for by subsidies...Farmers get new 57K pick-ups every year and they all drive new Escalades.....Farmers have Lear jets and vacation homes all over the place..All farms are now corporations...Farmers dont have to pay for roads....Farmers are lazy and only work 500 hours a year...The rest of the time they loaf at the gas station and gripe about welfare..
Small farmers get no subsidies,it all goes to Monsanto and Con-Agra...Monsanto and other corporations own most of the farm land in the US....Farmers use illegals to do all the work..All farmers get paid not to grow corn..Farmers need to quit growing corn for ethanol..All farms taking in over 1 million per year are corporate farmers..Theres no family farms left..The poor get their food stamps cut while rich farmers get subsidies..Farmers get huge subsidies for growing corn for ethanol..Its the farmers fault that food prices are high..It goes on and on...
I wonder what they would gripe about if farm subsidies were done away with..
