NW Iowa. / SW Arizona | I did a same day stress test (for my heart ) recently and just got the bill. Insurance covered 42% of the bill with the balance to me. I know you can "barter" with the hospital so called to see what my options were. They were,
1. Pay within 30 days and get 10% discount.
2. Pay full amount over three months payment with no discounts.
3. Get set up with one of their outside financial payee and make smaller payments but pay 4% int.
I told her I'll pay the full amount in 30 days for the 10% discount.
What have others gotten for discounts if you pay cash? I was hoping I could sweet talk her down more but she didn't bite :-).
