Always thought furnaces should come with,,,or easy added to,,,a cord to plug into. Usually have gas in an outage, either propane or natural but just need electricity for spark and fan blowing. they make those darn things so hard to plug in to.

My well pump pluged into its own outlet so that was easy. just made up a ext. wire you took plug out of regular hole and put into generator hole. made life without electricity bearable.

Did have a wood stove for emergency use next to propane furnace. I could fire up the stove, take furnace filter panel off, and use a window fan to blow hot air up furnace ducts for even good heat upstairs. If its too cold hotter stove,,,if your too hot open a window(never heard that complaint).

Could run a cord to deep freeze and refrig few times a day if necessary. Just wish my genny had wheels so one person could maneuver it
