A buddy of mine uses a stove similiar to that as his sole source of heat. He hasn't bought heating oil for years. The optional fan on the back can really move heat when the stove is going good. His house isn't nearly as big as yours, though. So I will say, yes it will put out heat.

That being said, and after reading the reviews,it may not be an occasional use stove. It is airtight, which makes it hard to get a fire going. Cold chimneys don't draft as well. If you only plan to start it when its gotten really cold, you might find it a pia.
