Subject: Re: King amendment

tomram486 - 1/27/2014 21:58 Was the King amendment to make states (new Mexico) allow horses to be slaughtered?

No

It was to keep states such as California from blocking trade of agricultural products with other states that don't adopt their crazy laws.

For example, they wouldn't be able to block sales of Pork from other states that was produced using gestation crates.

It should be a priority of all AG groups to get support for the King amendment.    The HSUS is against it,  it is worth fighting for.

IMO, it is more important to the future of AG than anything else that is currently in the farm bill.
