I get quotes and go from there, they don't need to be the cheapest but they need to be the best "value". By that I mean in the ball park on price but decent service too.
Chemicals I do for the most part the same way, I have found that it doesn't seem to matter if something goes wrong because the chem company won't pay for a failure anyway even if their product is the problem.
Coop elevator post got me to ask these questions.
