Subject: RE: DIY Tax Filing

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years now. The software has improved a bunch over the years. Since I have been using it so long all my depreciable items from previous years carry over from one year to the next. I just need to add new purchases. Since this is your first year you will have to transfer all previous unused depreciation manually. This could be rough to figure out if you are not somewhat tax savvy. Another note to farmers that do not pay estimated tax is almost every year I have to go to the correct form and manually tell the software that 2/3 of my income comes from farming. It will tack on a penalty if you do not.

Also, I use Quickbooks. Turbotax easily transfers your data from Quickbooks.
