Subject: new to precision

Murfreesboro, Tennessee
I do not own a single piece of precision equipment but want to start. I would eventually like to get to varaible rate applications. Given our variability in soil types and the cotton we raise, I think we could see a real benefit on my farm.

Question is, where do I start? Light bar and go from there? I have heard that system compatibility is a major issue. Is there one system that is compatible with everything? Should I have a yield monitor put in the combine? Do not want to spend too much, but willing to spend $5-$10k. Just do not know where to begin. All the information out there can be confusing when you know nothing.

Thanks for the advice.
