Subject: Thinking about a 1997 7810 2wd- any thoughts or suggestions?

Iowa
1997 7810 2wd
4600 hrs
power quad
three outlets
18.4-42 w duals great tread.
Exceptional condition, I looked closely and it has not been repainted. From a cash grain farm. Nearly new condition, as far as to look at- REALLY REALLY nice.

I did an Ag Talk search and found a lot but a few things are unclear.

1) There must be a coupler between the engine and trans I need to check- what is the procedure for that?

2) Is there a difference in engines or injection (electronic vs older type) between years, and what would a 1997 have?

3) Sales says ECU has been changed-has the receipt- hour meter shows less than 4600 but he has the ticket showing the hours when the work was done and it adds up to 4600 total hours- is this a warning sign?

4) anything else anyone would want to share to help me decide and make my "inspection" more fruitful?

Deal I have been offered is trade in a 4250 w 10,200 hrs in exceptional shape and $30,000- how does that sound?

Thanks in advance
