Central NE | FromtheFlats - 10/14/2013 22:51 Is your Co-op trying to make profits for farmers or on the backs of it's members? REALLY? So... What if all the co-ops customers are farmers. Then what? they make no money? make no improvements, act and look like a 1970's elevator who can't dump 4000k bushel an hour? Then you move on and say "they don't keep up with the times" and head to the private elevator down the road that can and will dump like a new and improved elevator should? You better hope they make money on my back and yours if they don't, then you should be worried.
And in reply to your question "What if all the co-ops customers are farmers. Then what? they make no money?"
Aren't you forgetting about economics of scale? Saving money on purchases, facilities and Storage and loading or recieving trains and barges by working cooperatively? That is what is supposed to pay for the running of the Co-op. Not bloated retail prices for members.
