The gas in the pipeline is now 84 octane instead of the 87 it was a few weeks ago. The way I understand it is it must be 87 to be legally sold at least in Nebraska. E 10 is now 87 octane instead of 89 and regular needs to be blended with expensive premium to get it up to 87. This is what I've been told, it makes sense but I can't confirm it.

It don't make no sense to me at all, but then again I'm still trying to wrap my head around the 'regular' not having any lead in it any more. Oh and Montana has all kinds of 85 octane sales, and I think it has some ethanol in it too, so did it come out of the refinery at about 80octane? I'm so confused.
