Huntley Montana
I rember harvesting beets into Dec due to mud. This year Crop insurance will PAY way better than Harvest due to the insurance price over the sugar price by $20 a ton. I was @ the "liers club" west of Billings this morning & 1 of the directors of the coop said the Billings factory area was over 1/2 done harvesting. Lovell was about 45% due to the snow last week.. But if the beets are not harvested where will the coop get the money to give the large bonuses to the ceo that is leaving befor the growers find out who was making the most money on the beets? It would be "interesting " to see what a independent lab results would be on the sugar %.
