RockyMtnKng - I think you guys are thinking of make up as the stuff a woman puts on to look pretty.... Pretty sure the OP is talking about just the normal "make-up" that is put on a dead body to make it look presentable... THAT is the difference between a mortician and an artist. I know of a couple funeral homes where I think the mortician just sprays them with a yellow-brownish paint. Seriously, it looks that bad.There are a couple others where I think the mortician uses actual cosmetic make-up. We had one locally who has had to retire due to health. He was truly an artist. I have heard many people comment the deceased looked more like he had years earlier. The difference between an artist and someone with a quick shot spray is just remarkable. |
