east central ND | Did some yesterday, 20 ac field went from nice average beans on half of it, to ankle bitters that hardly go in to the head on the other half. We have a 10 year aph of about 33 bu, and might be happy to average mid 20's. We have a lot of the burnt up short beans with the very few decent low ground fields that had some moisture reserve. Takes a lot of the good acres to make up for just a few bad ones.
Edit: Farm mostly on a sand hill that need "normal" rains, looks if we do get mid 20's that will be as expected: about 25% off average. I have some very nice beans in the bottom of some drain ditches where they would normally drown out!
