Formerly NE North Dakota, now NW MN | North American Ag, like everything else up here, is facing a huge demographic bomb. The people.pulling that d/a ratio's average down are not the young operators who will make up the majority of the industry in a few years. So what happens when people start selling land to pay nursing home bills ECT? When sellers outnumber young and leverages buyers what happens? Investors step in and "catch the falling knife"?
Also, our ability to lose $ per acre is greater, in real terms, than any other time in history.
Not sayin a crash is inevitable, but its worth being aware of the conditions that could lead to one. | |
