In some places they have to plant shorter maturity beans to work the Safrina crop in.. this year that crop was harvested into a plugged storage/transportation bottleneck and they got burnt.. bad. Prices fell below $3.00 in the hinterlands.. (Ouch!!)
So this year.. grow the fuller season beanies.. punt on the Safrina.. and focus on margins.. Probably the same thing we will do here.. Last year 1400+ acres of DC beanies.. This year less then 25% of that.. next year.. probably zippo. |
