Sleeper should have some anchor points for a safety net for team operators. I'd probably use that for strapping in a car seat. I can't imagine how obtuse a LEO would have to be to have a problem with that.
I took our kids in the truck a lot, but always one at a time and just used their carseats in the passenger seat.
