It does not have to freeze to effect yield in corn. Temperature inversions can be as much as 8-10 F either side of the thermometer through the low & high spots of the field. We have had 3 white frosts. Two were 35 & 36 F. I already know to expect some yield hit directly or indirectly due to lower test weight from low spots in the fields. Silage being harvested, already talk about a lot of variability over the fields right now. If you think yield on corn not black layered is not effected by those types of temperatures, you are fooling yourself. (Yep, back to frost is not real, has no effect, killing crop post right?)
