Ours doesn't smoke really. It doesn't take much once you get under the turbo to loose power quickly. Most engines once you load them down the torque curve flattens out and they're able to hold steady at a certain RPM until you really load them down. Ours doesn't seem to do that. If you load it down too much you really have to back off the hydro lever to get it to recover. Wish it had another 40-50 hp. Maybe running without the recutter screen would help.
