Summers being out is probably a good thing for the nation as a whole in the long run.

Geithner is supposedly also withdrawing from nomination as well. 

There's no one on the horizon who will actually improve things, but if these two chuckleheads are out of the running, then at least we've ducked the possibilty that we could have had a Fed chair who would have made things substantially worse.
