Faunsdale, AL | I have actually cut out the bad part and brazed on a coupler to run forward to AC compressor with a hose. Bypassing the disconnect under the cab.
Almost certainly the line is rusted out in the area under the cab. Not really a lot of trouble to take the cover of the cab post and pull it out and replace. Have done that too. I like to strip the insulation off so I don't ever have to do that repair again, but that's probably why the AC doesn't get as cold as it used to!
The liquid line never rusts out, it is always warm and dry.
