If, You are being paid on components, then the extra volume from Holstein cows, may not make up the loss from decreased percentages of components. I believe if your milk is for fluid use, then Holsteins are the cows to have.
I have known Holsteins herds, that feed for protein and fat. I was amazed at the level the protein the closed herd of Holsteins could produce. 3.6 or sometimes higher. | |
