| How is your milk being used? Or how are you being paid? If the milk is used to make cheese. If, You are being paid on components, then the extra volume from Holstein cows, may not make up the loss from decreased percentages of components. I believe if your milk is for fluid use, then Holsteins are the cows to have.
I have known Holsteins herds, that feed for protein and fat. I was amazed at the level the protein the closed herd of Holsteins could produce. 3.6 or sometimes higher. | |
