Jim - 8/23/2013 11:06 Brian, that is the shutoff for the foot valve. If the waterer is not in use during the winter, shutting it off at the foot valve lets the water in the heat tube drain back so I can turn off the electricity and nothing freezes. Thank you for your pointers. Jim


That DWV valve will be your problem in all of this, not grounding problems.  Those things are really prone to failure.
