Subject: RE: Let's remember that the USDA gets to print the number

Jesup, IA
Let's just remember the USDA gets to print the number. So that always makes them "right".

Would you rather know what's out there by a year-to-year consistent, independent sampling method of where 80% of the corn is grown? Or the USDA's black box? I'm glad Pro Farmer doesn't just play "pin the tail on the USDA."

I think there has been a paradigm shift at NASS where they no longer start the season projecting a likely crop, but rather, they project the "potential" crop if it all goes right.
