Honestly, I would probably do the same... The other option is a car dolly- probably the 'right' way to do it, and may not even be that much more $$$. Years ago, my Wife's Neon started 'giving up the ghost' on her way to work- the timing belt was going out (for the third time). I coached her into the parking lot, left my work early, got all the kids, rented a uhaul dolly, hauled the car to the farm, went back for her after work and got everyone home safely-Long, but rewarding day.
