Near-north Ontario, French River | ABS can't 'lock' the brakes, ABS is used to pulse the brakes ( lets them off in short bursts) to prevent/lessen lock ups. Like Lizton says the brakes are probably just stuck, ie the shoes are rusted/stuck to the brake drums or your cam rollers are seized . Chock your wheels, air the truck up, and slide under the truck, using a big bar or small sledge whack the brake drum as hard as you can, might take several swats but I bet the shoes release. If the trucks been sitting for a long long time, once you get things loosened up its probably a good idea to pull the wheels and clean up the brakes, maybe even install new hardware kids ( return springs and rollers) |
