For example, the three year corn ave for Ohio and SD using 2009, 2010& 2011 are 160.3 & 141.9 respectively. If you use 2012 yields (110.5 & 74.3 respectively) the three year averages become 144.1 & 119.5 respectively. Ohio's 172 bu/A is only 7% higher and SD's 161.8 is 14% higher than the average.
Certainly this year is better than average but not spectacular. |
