Subject: Re: Would this work to cool a shop?

Pontiac, IL.
2 1/2 years ago I needed to replace the furnace in my house. HVAC contractor recommended I also get a new AC. I had replaced the outside unit of my AC 6 years earlier, but decided to go with a complete new unit. I had also replaced the furnace fan 2 years prior. I set the old furnace unit above the office in our shop, mounted a cubed plenum above with a couple of holes in it, and set the outside unit outside the shop. A little plumbing and electrical work, and we have a central AC shop. Cold air falls, and it works great. (house was 2700 square ft. with full basement underneath. Shop is 56x64 with a lot less windows than the house.) Sure is nice. BTW , we have floor heat in the shop, so I am not using the furnace for heat, just the AC coil and fan.
