south central IOWA | by t-boss and mrs. t-boss. My brother, I and our wives threw a surprise party for our parents today. It's their 40th wedding anniversary and my Mom's 60th birthday. I think I've told more lies lately than I have my entire life just to keep it a secret and to get them to the party without them knowing. Everything was going to plan until 15 minutes before we left their house to go to the party, Dad tells us a guy is coming in a couple of hours to look at bred heifers. Since he thought we were just going out to lunch he thought it would be OK for him to come today. I scrambled up to the shop and was able to find a piece of paper with the guys name and number on it, called him, explained the situation, and since he was half way here from Missouri, told him he might as well come join the party. :) Actually, he called when he was close and I was able to get away from the party so I could show him the heifers.
All in all a great day. Mom and Dad were very surprised and appreciative. I still can't believe Mom didn't turn around and smack me when she walked through them doors at the party. :)
