NCIN, crops are certainly looking better than last year. I don't think we'll be looking at record yields though. I think the 11" of rain in June did some damage. 1) some of the nitrogen had to be lost and 2) I'm seeing some weed pressure from the herbicide not holding up. The ears appear to be a little small. While the kernel count is there, I'm wondering if the kernels are small?
