Assigning a weight to blister or dough stage ear means less than nothing. I am fortunate enough to have some better-looking corn in my area but walking it shows n deficiency in low areas, very uneven development even in better looking areas, 2 weeks behind normal, and I always thought slightly dry years were way better than wet years, which it sounds like the eastern corn belt had, where all the corn is supposed to be. I don't buy the ear weight story for this crop. .edit; meant as a reply to Tara below
+1 this years crop varies so much, the ear weight thing is laughable.
