South central Minnesota
Did you notice in the June acreage report that even NASS said there was going to be at least 700,000 acre less planted to principle crops from 2012. Also from studying the numbers from June, east of the Mississippi corn belt states are expected to be down 420,000 from 2012 harvested but west up 710,000, makes sense really as the west lost a lot of acres to drought. Now I'm just talking corn belt states so there are other states in the mix but the heart of the matter is it looks like the June report was the high tide mark for planted and harvested.
It's going to be a better crop then last year no doubt but the cream might be off the top. I'll take USDA's price range if someone would guarantee me an average crop. 2009 sucked here and we planted fairly timely that year compared to this year.
