Eastern Half of Kansas | Yes but no, in eastern Kansas we battle humidity about 3-4 cuttings out of the usual 5 cuttings. If we are battling moisture we do use preservative acid like you guys, where as in western Kansas they wouldn't, they pray for a dew. But if we have moisture issues we won't turn pressure down, but we do "stack loose" in the barn. Setting two bales in at time but leaving space on the sides of them while stacking 4 high. While I don't do what you do, I use to try that on the round baler by turning pressure down, but stopped because my bales were so inconsistent in weight because of doing it. I now just wait for it to dry, we have no acid applicator on round baler. What level of moisture are you talking where you'd turn it down? Dew or stem? | |
