Manitoba | We dropped 28k with the planter. Pioneer says 29200 is most economical rate for 7443. There is in fact 18 different hybrids in the field and they all look good but late. 7443 was about the last one to tassle. 39v05 is probably the best looking pioneer in the trial with D97 a close second but we'll see how fast they all finish off. 26-28 Dekalb looks earliest right now but kernal counts aren't as good. Kernal weight might be the winner though this year. Hope I got the numbers right with 18 varieties it can get confusing. I'll let you know how they all come off in a couple months. | |
