Subject: School shopping ain't so bad $$$$

Texas/New Mexico Stateline

Tax free weekend over in New Mexico, so hit it this morning trying to beat the weekend crowds, plus department stores were running sales, and we had a $10 off coupon to burn up. We always hit the consignments and second-hand stores first. Goodwill is hit or miss depending on the week. Today was a BIG hit when it came to clothes for the new kindergartner boy. We got 3 nice pair of pants, 3 shirts, very nice off brand shoes, thermos, 1 pair of jeans for the girl, and a couple shirts for her for $27 !!!! No sales tax this weekend.

Goodwill did not have much selection this week for our 7 year old girl, so we had to break down and hit Beals and JC Penney, Sears.  (yuck)  Still got jeans about 50% off, shoes were the big expense.  But compare the first picture with this one, which was $55.  OUCH!  That hurt after the Goodwill bonanza.

My feet hurt.  Yes I helped with the shopping and had to carry around the littlest one.  Long hot day, but we are done with school shopping.  They'll get a few more items from family as gifts, thankful for that.
