Subject: Re: A question for the cow/calf guys/gals

Kingdom of Callaway - Fulton, Mo 65251
Last year during the drought, I sat at a gas station by the highway and watched trailer after trailer load of nice young cows go by to market. I knew a lot of the old guys selling and they will never get back in no matter how much grass we have.

If I have to borrow the money to buy more cows, pay rent for more pasture, pay current fert prices to keep it up, and then carve out a chunk of my already packed day to manage it, how does that pencil out?

I would love to expand, but it will take a long time to make it pay.
