| Here is an earlier chat, these HAWKINS HAY FEEDERS are well built and work, also, google MARTIN HAY FEEDERS, they have a good hay saver also. If you use a baler with a cutter, this saves a whole bunch of hay. If you go to the following there is a picture of the HAWKINS FEEDER.

Feversham, Ontario, Canada In a year where hay is scarce these feeders are great. Very little wastage and well built. Holds two bales too. Anyone else have feeders/designs they're pleased with?

Probably on their flat, set another one on top- once a good foot is chewed of the bottom bale, the top one probably sinks/settles enough to catch the ring, holding it in.

I see you've been to see my neighbour! I use the same feeders, and love them. Waste is down significantly, plus it saves the cows' necks in case they get to eager for hay when setting the bales in. Right now I'm feeding sorghum (wrapped, ensiled) and setting a straw bale on top. The straw falls down around the better feed, and the cattle are forced to eat both together. Seems to be working well.
