Red River Valley | First off I never stated that I did it. I stated that it you took advantage of the $7.00 prices ( and yes one would have had to think outside the box to get $7.00 corn ) but it was available just not by selling straight cash to the buyer for fall 2013 delivery.
guy's think hedging in old crop month and rolling forward to new crop - look at the futures for Dec. 2012, May and July of 2013 and using spread and rolls it could and was done by some.
mostly it was an example of why somebody might be looking at a big crop and feeling like they tripled dip on their marketing plan. | |
