Got an old cow that is just about ready to drop her calf. She bagged up last Monday and I figured she would have the calf that night. Next day she was all puffy and I thought surely she will have it tonight. Then she disappeared and there was not doubt that she had slipped off to have it. Then Thursday I went to a funeral and got back home late. Friday she was back in the lot, and took off running when I walked outside. Got her corraled this morning and took her to the vet. Really figured i would have a dead calf. The vet said she was just starting to dialate and she should have the calf in two or three days. No explanation as to why she bagged up so early and then the bag receded to looking normal. Anyhow, I put her in the feed barn corral and will keep my eye on her.
