Subject: Re: Pack barn question

Ohio
We have a scrape alley in our dry cow barn where they get fed. It gets scraped 3 or so times a week. We also take ascoop out of the bed pack where they walk between it and the scrape alley...it usually gets sloppy. I would definetly put in a scrape alley. There is a concrete wall about 3 foot high between the bedpack and the scrape alley with a gate on one end of it so we can pen them on the bedpack when we scrape the alley. We also pen them in the scrape alley when we haul the bedpack. Normally that gate is left open. I'll see if I can get some pictures tonight when I go milk.

Okay I've got pictures...The barn is 80x80 with a 20x80 storage area...so I guess its really 80x100. Bed pack pen is 48x64. Scrape alley is 16x64. Calf pen is 64x16.
