West Central Iowa | Thanks for the replies. I told the salesperson that I would bring my tractor up to pick up the machine and as long as there were no cracks in the bar, I would take it. I did the best visual inspection I could, but the location of the crack was just not visible. Had there been no cracks in the bar I would have been the happy owner of a "fixer-upper" unit.
I talked a salesperson at the dealership today and we agreed to take it to the local welding shop to get there opinion on repairing the crack. As I suspected they told me they could weld the crack but wouldn't be confident guaranteeing it. I stopped by the dealership to talk more with the salesperson, but he was gone. I'm hoping we can make some arrangement where they will take back the mower if I will reassemble everything, they will pay for the new parts I installed, and I will be out my time.
