Subject: market for wrapped alfalfa haylage

cavalier county
Hello I farm in the northeast corner of ND, and we have about 10 -15% we weren't able to seed. I'm considering alfalfa instead of prev. plant coverage. There used to be a lot of alf in our area which was shipped to MN and WI to dairies, however getting top quality was a huge problem and usually only half could be put up without rain. Do any of you think there could be a market for wrapped medium square bales? I realize the trucking would be more expensive per dry matter ton but it seems that might be offset by the increased quality and greatly reduced stress. When we had hay before it was seldom that it would cure in 4 days due to our cooler and humid climate so we aren't exactly hay country but our heavy soils really benefit from alfalfa in the rotation. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
