| If its sited out in the open put the tunnel fans on the north or east end of the barn depending which way it lays. Summer winds can seriously reduce fan efficiency.
Thorpe makes good water pans.
Big pens are good for saving gate cost, good for pigs, good for you walking pens, great for powerwashing, but kind of stink at selling time. You will spend as much time pre sorting as you do loading the truck assuming you pull the biggest end out of every pen. Its nice to have presorted hogs when the truck comes but you should really do your sorting 12 hours ahead - kind of stressful taking the first cut out of 100 or 120 head pens. Personally I like big pens but they aren't perfect. They do force you to walk every pen every day which is a good thing.
