Subject: Beef Cow harvest way Up, hay used Down

New Mexico
16% more beef cows harvested over the past 10 weeks as comped to 2012 same frame.

YTD total is up 3%.

US hay used is down 25% from the 10 year avg.
10 yr is 26.91 lbs of hay per cow used, Dec thru May.
21.6 lbs of hay per cow was used the past Dec thru May frame.

( afore is the smallest hay use per cow since 1986, btw )

Hiefers in the fat harvest mix keep running 40 to 46% of the total.

There is NO mid year semi annual cattle inventory report for 2013 ( Thank God this govt is finally running out of dough to spend on junk non needed ).

NICE thing is with no semi annual ( 1st of July release deal ), THAT very likely messes up criteria for the annual report which is released 1st part of Jan 014.

ALL everyone gonna know is there's Less of em...probably a lot less. MO.
