On a standard corner system the two conductor wire (twisted pair) is used to go from the panel to the perimeter. Similar to an underground dog fence, the twisted pair cancels out the radio signal so the pivot does not try to walk to the center. The single conductor then runs the perimeter for the corner radio to follow.
