As far as I know all 90 series heads will fit a 9600, and it wasn't until the 600c headers that you had to have hooks. That said, a set of bolt on hooks for a 9600 is cheap and then you can pick up whatever head you want.
Looking at 893 heads - what year will they not fit a 9600?
