Subject: RE: Best skid steer brand out there for farm/ranch?

I have a NH LS170. It's been a decent machine given the use it's had. It's routinely run well past it's rated limits. Keeping wheel bearings in it seems to be the main problem here. I don't know what I'd buy if I was looking for a new one today. I'm fairly turned off by the newest series of NH loaders. They seem to have abandoned what qualities made them unique and more versatile in favor of building a loader that looks like all the rest. I'd probably be inclined to go look seriously for a good used LS series if I needed one...
From what I've seen of Cat's offering in the same size class as mine... I've been very unimpressed. They don't seem to have the power or tractive effort and control that the NH has...
Deere would probably be about the top of my list today if I was looking at a new one. That just left a foul taste in my mouth after saying that...
