This idea is what is complicating the issue. Am I wrong in thinking that I should get my feet wet with a lower priced, under $2,000, unit while I learn about a-b lines and other terms? I realize that this investment would need to be recovered in 3 years. At that point invest in a new system that maybe better than an upgrade.

Do the cheaper units offer slope compensation and contour abilities? Any other features that would be good to have. I do not know enough to ask the right questions.
